Terms of Service

These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Inge Steemans Coaching and Consulting (trading as Your North Star), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KVK number 93502702, VAT number NL005022720B18, with its registered office at Prinses Marijkestraat 75, 2595 TL Den Haag, The Netherlands. By using Family North Star you accept these terms.

1. The service

Family North Star is a guided weekend experience for couples and parents. It sequences reflective exercises across a two-day journey to help families clarify their values, vision and direction, and generates a personalised Family North Star Blueprint (PDF) based on the responses you and your partner provide. It includes AI-assisted features that generate insights, headlines and a written family story from your inputs.

2. Your account

  • You must provide an accurate email and verify it before your account is activated.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to purchase, and Family North Star is intended for adult partners and parents.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password and account credentials confidential.
  • You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting support.

3. Subscriptions, payments and billing

Family North Star is sold as an annual subscription. Payment, billing, VAT and invoicing are handled by our reseller Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles customer service inquiries related to payment and refunds.

  • Annual subscriptions auto-renew each year at the published renewal price until cancelled.
  • Prices are shown in EUR or USD and may include VAT depending on your country.
  • When your subscription expires you retain read-only access to your Family North Star Blueprint, but editing and AI generation are paused until you renew.
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

4. Gifts and access codes

Family North Star can be purchased as a gift. Gift recipients receive a private redemption link that activates a one-year subscription on the chosen activation date. Access codes (used for partnerships, beta and workshops) grant the same one-year access. Gifts and access codes are non-transferable once redeemed and cannot be exchanged for cash.

5. Refunds and right of withdrawal

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. EU consumers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive. See our Refund Policy for details.

6. Your data and content

You own your journey data, reflections, uploads and Blueprint content. We process them only to provide the service. You can request export or deletion of your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

By submitting content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host and process it solely to provide the service to you and your invited partner.

7. AI disclaimer

  • The AI-generated insights, headlines and family story are reflective prompts — they are not a substitute for professional therapy, medical, legal, financial or family counselling advice.
  • AI outputs are generated from your inputs and may not always be accurate or appropriate. You are responsible for how you use them.
  • You must not use the AI features to generate illegal, harmful, harassing or infringing content, and you must not attempt to jailbreak, scrape or reverse-engineer the system.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for unlawful purposes or in violation of these terms.
  • Attempt to access other families' data or interfere with our security (probing, scraping, malware).
  • Resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Infringe intellectual-property rights of Your North Star or third parties.

9. Intellectual property

Inge Steemans Coaching and Consulting retains all rights, title and interest in Family North Star, including the software, design, branding and underlying methodology. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your active subscription, together with the partner you invite to your family workspace.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access in case of material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated violations of these terms. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

11. Service availability

We strive to keep the service available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Your responses are autosaved as you work and synced when the service is available.

12. Liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages (including loss of profits, data or goodwill). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes will be brought before the competent court in The Hague, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.

14. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
